GP-S – Free Mentoring, Coaching and Signposting Service
Free peer mentoring, coaching and signposting for all GPs
All GPs in Derbyshire can access a free peer mentor within days with GP-S.
GP-S has been running since 2015 supporting General Practice in Derbyshire and beyond. The service offers access to free peer mentoring and coaching for all GPs in Derbyshire alongside training and wellbeing workshops for all Primary Care staff and beyond.
GP-S can be used for any problem or opportunity you may have, on top of being useful for your own personal or professional development. If you’re not sure if GP-S would benefit you, get in touch with them to find out more. Their mentors are all fully trained and are able to support you to develop a positive way forward for you and work with you to put plans into action.
From first contact, eligible GPs can be linked with a trained and local peer mentor of the clients’ choice within 2 weeks. The mentors are from a variety of roles and backgrounds so they’re able to understand your current circumstances. Coaching sessions can be used to discuss any personal or professional issue or opportunity an individual may be stuck on. Sessions are 1-1 and virtual making it easy to fit them around your schedule.
Coaching can take place over the course of 12 months giving you time to make real progress with the support of your mentor.
Feedback suggests GP-S is useful for building confidence, resilience and general wellbeing as well as allowing you to positively move forward. GP-S has also been a finalist in the BMJ awards in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
